Disneyland

We drove over to Disneyland from Palm Springs for a few days and we had a wonderful time.  This was our 3rd time with Hudson and our best yet.  He loved everything and was even tall enough for Splash Mountain!  Bennett was amazed by everything, not thrilled with Pirates of the Caribbean, but he loved Toontown. We are hoping to head back in the fall to go to the opening of Cars at California Adventure. 

Baby Shower for Britni and Dave

We can't wait to meet baby Liam who is due in July!  We were lucky that the couples shower was scheduled while we were in town. I can't believe that we will be great aunt Heidi and great uncle John!

Palm Springs

We spent the last two weeks in Palm Springs with family.  We had so much fun swimming, playing with cousins, having a baby shower for Britni and Dave, celebrating Hudson and Uncle Waco's birthdays, having Easter brunch, spending 2 days at Disneyland and we even managed to get away without the kids to the Viceroy for an overnight.  Hudson and Bennett love the sun and pool as much as John and I.  We can't wait to go back down to meet baby Liam!

Oatmeal

This boy LOVES oatmeal and insists on feeding himself.  We only have oatmeal for breakfast when we have time for a bath after.

Birthday Day

On Wednesday Hudson woke up to four big blue balloons floating in his room and streamers hanging down when he walked out his door. He thought this was very cool. We started the day with waffles with sprinkles.  Then we headed downtown to the Aquarium. He also requested Red Robin for lunch. Lucky for us there is a Red Robin within walking distance from the Aquarium. Hudson got his own digital camera for his birthday and loved taking pictures on his birthday trip. We were lucky that it was a beautiful sunny day in Seattle. Turning four was fun!

Birthday Party

Hudson celebrated his 4th birthday at Jump, Rattle and Roll last weekend.  It was the perfect place to let 15 kids under 4 run around and be silly (much better than at my house).  He had a dinosaur birthday complete with inflatable dinosaurs, dinosaur cupcakes and dinosaur masks.  He loved it!  He also made a big decisions to collect toys for Children's Hospital this year instead of gifts for himself.  I was so proud that he did this and never thought twice about about.  Don't worry, he was still spoiled with gifts from his family.  

Four Years Old

Dear Hudson,

Four years ago today my life changed in a way that I can't even describe.  You made me a mommy and for that I will forever be grateful.  Each day I'm proud to call you my son.  You have grown into such an amazing young boy.  You have a quirky little spunk that I love.  You love to make others happy (maybe a little too much), you love animals, playing outside, playing cars and getting crazy with daddy.  You get a look in your eye that tells me when it's time for a "time out" from life.  I know this look because I have the same one.  You are my mini me and for that I am grateful because I "get" you better than anyone else.  I'm sorry that I gave you my tendency to stress about the small things, want everything perfect, and only be able to function when everything is in order.  After all these years I'm just now beginning to let go of a few of these things.  You taught me how to do this and hopefully I can teach you.  You have become a wonderful big brother.  Despite having a hard time sharing your mommy you are finding out fast that Bennett is your biggest fan.  I'm so grateful that Bennett has such an amazing role model to follow through life.  I can't wait to see my boys years down the road.  Brothers are friends forever.  You look forward to preschool and our fun outings each day.  You love to play with your friends and are so gentle and kind.  The majority of your friends are girls and I think this was a blessing.  You have learned that girls and boys are equally as fun.  You can have just as much fun playing tea party and dress up as you can playing cars.  I love this about you.  You thrive with a routine and spin out of control without one (again, just like me).  Most days we stay on track and life is smooth.  When we don't stay on track, that night I find myself laying in bed with you and holding you in my arms telling you a calming story to help you forget about your worries. You definitely are my kid.  Thank you for being silly, dramatic, emotional, outgoing, friendly, cuddly and happy in life.  You are one of a kind and you are mine!
